LONDON (AFX) - UK May final M4 money supply was up 0.4 pct on a seasonally-adjusted basis from the previous month leaving it 7.5 pct higher than in the same month a year earlier, the Bank of England said. This fell in line with provisional estimates which showed M4 up 0.4 pct on the month and 7.4 pct year on year. Final M4 lending rose an adjusted 5.4 bln stg in May -- equivalent to a 0.5 pct increase on the month and a 8.5 pct year-on-year rise -- following an unrevised 1.2 bln bln stg rise the month before.
